Teaching & Support Staff

Mrs Lockett
My name is Mrs Lockett. I am the Deputy Head here at Forsbrook and also teach year 6. I have been teaching now for 20 years which seems like a really long time but I still absolutely love being in the classroom and doing the job I’ve wanted to do since I was a little girl! I feel extremely lucky to work in such a wonderful school, with a great team of teachers and, more importantly, lovely children who are eager to learn. As far as jobs go, you can’t get much better than being a teacher at Forsbrook!
My favourite part of being in Year 6 is the week-long residential. I love taking part in all of the activities, especially the high wire ones, but most of all I love seeing the children stepping out of their comfort zones, having a go at the challenges and growing in confidence.
One of the best things about being a primary school teacher is that you get to teach all the subjects but my absolute favourites are maths and computing! I love gadgets and have an app for everything!
In my spare time, my three lovely children, Mr Lockett and our super cute dog keep me very busy. I love nothing more than to go for walks in the countryside to enjoy the fresh air and freedom. During lockdown, I also found a new love of cycling and really enjoy exploring new places on two wheels. I even bought a dog basket for my bike so I can take my pooch with me.
My favourite place to go on holiday is France. I love the easy-going pace of life, the great food and the sun-filled days. I also like to ski –there’s no better feeling than being at the top of a snowy mountain, with the sun shining down, experiencing breath taking views.
I also have a love of books, especially children’s books, and my collection is so huge that I’ve filled several book cases, cupboards and I even have boxes of books stored in the loft. I honestly believe that you can never have too many books, though! Two of my favourite books are Wonder by RJ Palacio – a story about the power of kindness – and The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse – a beautiful picture book with some great life lessons.
